POST MORTEM OF INDIAN ELECTION 2014
1). You know there is just one guy who won in Maharashtra under Congress. Ashok Chavan. He was implicated in the Adarsh flat scam. Can you believe this ? A shamelessly corrupt guy who pocketed a flat intended for the Kargil war widows is again selected by the people !
2). In UP, just two seats out of 80 were won by the Congress. Sonia and Rahul. Sonia and Rahul appeared for two minutes to say they take responsibility of the electoral defeat. Where was the Prime Minister for ten years ? Wasn't it his responsibility say a few words ? Or as critics always say, is Indian Politics a family affair of the Nehrus ?
3). The overwhelming results gives Modi strength to go for major laws that requires 2/3rd majority. For example repealing of Article 370 of Kashmir where by no Indian can buy land there. Will Modi go for it ? Make Kashmir an integral part of India and allow others also to own land there.
By the way Farooq Abdulla who said 'he would attach Kashmir to Pakistan if Modi wins' and 'it is better to get drowned in the sea than voting for Modi', has lost !
4). Rahul was gestured by Mamma Sonia to follow her after the public address. Why they could not at least thank the people for paying for their expenses for the last ten years ? Or answer a few questions of the press ? They are still living in crystal houses not connected to the people or ground realities. Politics to the Nehru family appears to be a kind social service or a liability.
5). Meghalaya with 100% Christian population voted for BJP. This was unbelievable stuff. Christians are shrewd business men unlike the Muslims who are more fanatical towards their religion and hence easily exposed or caught. May be Hindus can live longer with the Christians than the Muslims.
6). In Assam BJP got seats. Is this because of the anti Bangladeshi tirade by Modi against the infiltrators ? Except Modi, no other Indian politicians ever raised this issue earlier. Most politicians especially the Congress and leftists, were happy to have more Bangladeshis if they simply voted for them !
7). Naveen Patnaik in Orissa, Mamata Banerji in Waste Bengal and Kumari J. Jayalalithaa in Tamilnadu stood their solid ground against the Modi wave. There may be some reason behind this. Good governance ?
8). Mayavati and Karunanidhi are inconsolable ! Both scored golden ducks. Who said Gosayis and Madrasis are stupid ?
9).The CPM won just one seat in Waste Bengal and complained of booth capturing and rigging by Mamata's men ! That makes one wonder the same exercises deployed by the Marxists earlier under Jyotibasu era. Now why complain when someone learned from you and doing even better ?
10). Kerala stood out by electing Congress and Leftists when the entire nation went against both. The voting trends indicate that the BJP is gaining ground in Kerala by eating into the votes of Leftists. Soon the leftists will be history in Kerala.
In Kerala the Christians have a political party named Kerala Congress. The Muslims have a political party named the Muslim League. Both claim themselves to be secular and BJP to be communal ! The leftists also brand BJP as communal. Keralites mostly being geniuses, will not tolerate Communalism at any cost ! So they vote for Christians and Muslims and not Hindus !
